32.5% growth in South Korea’s exports of environmentally friendly cars

New data showed that South Korean exports of environmentally friendly cars rose by 32.5% on an annual basis, reaching a record level during the first 11 months of this year, due to strong global demand for electric cars.

The South Korean Yonhap News Agency quoted the Korea Automobile and Mobility Association as saying that the volume of exports of environmentally friendly cars reached 662,307 units during the period from January to November last year, compared to 499,854 units during the same period last year.

Export volume during the entire year of 2023 is expected to exceed 700,000 for the first time ever, officials said.

Last year, exports of environmentally friendly cars reached a record level of 554,000 cars, and the value of exports reached an all-time high of $1.61 million.
