Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a 36-hour ceasefire in Ukraine. The ceasefire is part of the Russian Orthodox Church’s Christmas celebrations.

The ceasefire will be for 36 hours from 12 midnight on Thursday. Orthodox Christians living in Russia and Ukraine celebrate Christmas on January 6-7.
