36-year-old patient regains consciousness after 20 days in a coma at Luanda General Hospital – news

A 36-year-old patient, of Eritrean nationality, who was admitted to the Luanda General Hospital on 9 October this year, transferred from a private clinic, regained consciousness following 20 days in a coma. He knew Kianda’s Mail.

According to the medical report, Natanael Nahary, a citizen of Eritrea, lost consciousness on the 4th, which led to his being hospitalized initially in Viana, having been diagnosed with a case of Malaria.

“But it was at the clinic, in downtown Luanda, where it was proven that he was suffering from a stroke, on the Glasgow scale 6/15, already in serious condition”, explains a press release from the Government of the Province of Luanda.

In intensive care at the General Hospital of Luanda, the patient was evaluated and submitted to an artificial ventilation machine, among other technical procedures.

After two weeks of specialized monitoring, Natanael Nahary showed positive signs of recovery of speech and consciousness on the 24th, making a total of 20 days of coma.

The medical team ensures that the patient is out of danger. “The Cerebral Vascular Accident (CVA) made Natanael Nahary physically debilitated, which is why he is still “with us, otherwise he would have already been discharged”, assured the medical group cited in the same statement sent to news.
