Riyadh: 400 tons of samsam is distributed daily in the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah during Ramadan. This much water is brought to Madinah in special tanker lorries from Makkah. It has 520 employees to supervise. It is these employees who fill the samsam brought to Madinah in the containers and transfer it to different parts of the Haram.

The Masjidunna Bavi office said that more than 14,000 containers have been prepared for distribution of samsam in different parts of the Prophet’s Mosque. More than 10 lakh glasses are prepared daily. There are 80 handcarts and 20 electric vehicles for distributing samsam inside and outside the Haram. There are 10 trailers to remove empty containers.

Samsam is filled following each vessel is cleaned and sterilized three times. There are eight locations for refilling samsam and three centers for cooling single-use samsam bottles. There are special people to distribute samsam at namaz places. Officials also stated that special bags have been prepared for them to carry Samsam.
