42 dead and 200 injured in Aleppo, Hama and Latakia as a result of the earthquake, with an indefinite toll

The Syrian Minister of Health, Hassan Al-Ghobash, announced that 42 people were killed and 200 injured in Aleppo, Hama and Latakia as a result of the earthquake, in an indefinite toll.

The Director General of the Syrian National Center for Earthquake Monitoring, Raed Ahmed, stated that “Syria was affected by the earthquakes that occurred in northern Iskenderun in general in its various regions, while the areas close to the epicenter in Idlib, Latakia and Aleppo were most affected.”

And the Syrian Civil Defense had reported, “The collapse of several residential buildings in northwestern regions of Syria, and the presence of people trapped under the rubble, following an earthquake and followingshocks that struck northwestern Syria at 4:20 am today, Monday.”

And he announced, on social media, “a state of emergency to save the trapped,” calling on the residents to “evacuate the residential buildings, go to open places far from the buildings, and inform our teams regarding those trapped under the rubble.”
