This Thursday evening, the El Gouna Film Festival concluded its sixth session this year, which was held under exceptional circumstances.
The closing ceremony of the El Gouna Film Festival was held in the presence of a large number of art stars, who attended the festival’s sand carpet.
Cairo and the People channel broadcast live the activities of the closing ceremony of the Cairo Film Festival, which was presented by journalist Nardine Farag.
The closing ceremony also witnessed the presence of engineer Naguib Sawiris, who presented the audience award to the winning film of the festival, while the closing ceremony was attended by international star Tyrese Gibson.
The program of the sixth session of the El Gouna Festival included approximately 90 diverse films in its official competitions and non-competition section, as well as films in the “Window on Palestine” section, which the festival launched in its special session in support of Palestinian cinema and in solidarity with the Palestinian cause and people.
The sixth session of the festival began on December 14 without any festive appearances, as an expression of the solidarity of the El Gouna Film Festival administration with the Palestinian people. A dedicated program was also added to Palestinian cinema, and included the screening of a group of films regarding Palestine in cooperation with the Palestine Film Institute, in order to shed light on the situation.
