In 2023, 500 thousand people were recruited for military service in the interests of the Joint Group of Forces. Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev spoke regarding this.

“In 2023, more than 500 thousand people were involved in the interests of the United Group of Forces of the Russian Federation,” – reported Medvedev at a meeting on the issues of supplementing the RF Armed Forces with contract soldiers. He added that 420 thousand people out of this number were hired under contract.

According to Medvedev, military service will begin in 2023 was taken more than 452 thousand people, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense. He noted that a systematic approach to attracting citizens to military service is being successfully implemented in many regions.
