51-year-old citizen dies of electrocution in Quipungo – Jornal OPaís

A 51-year-old citizen died from electrocution, in the municipality of Quipungo, in Huíla, when he tried to illegally overcome an electrical fault in his residence, at a low voltage point, informed local police spokesman, Augusto Chinanga.

Speaking to ANGOP, the spokesperson highlighted that the reasons that led him to carry out such an act was the fact that his residence was deprived of electricity, so he understood that, around 6 pm, on the 12th of the month in course, even though he was not qualified to climb a low voltage post and in contact with the positive, he met his death.

In turn, the communications agent for the National Electricity Distribution Company (ENDE) of Huíla, Wilson Haukelo, confirmed what happened and regretted the fact, as this month alone the number of victims of deaths due to electrocution rose to four, for the same motivations.

He highlighted that the last case occurred in the municipality of Chibia, which resulted in the death of three citizens aged 28 to 36 years old and three others were injured when they tried to install a pole on the medium voltage line.

He highlighted that the company’s management is “very” concerned regarding the situation and calls on citizens to avoid contact with the electricity grid, leaving this mission exclusively to ENDE.
