53-year-old cyclist hit by a car: he did not survive

A cyclist was killed on Thursday evening in a traffic accident in Dilsen-Stokkem.

The cyclist was riding the old coal railway, which is part of the Limburg cycle network and which intersects the Driepaal route at a certain point. The victim was hit while crossing the road.

Seriously injured, the 53-year-old cyclist from Dilsen-Stokkem ended up dying despite the first aid provided by the emergency services. The local police in the Maasland region made the necessary findings and informed the Limburg public prosecutor’s office, which sent a traffic expert to the scene.
