6.3 earthquake shakes part of western Afghanistan where previous earthquake left hundreds dead

HERAT, Afghanistan (AP) — Another earthquake has hit a part of western Afghanistan where a quake was recorded Saturday that left more than 2,000 dead.

The magnitude 6.3 earthquake Wednesday morning had its epicenter regarding 28 kilometers from the provincial capital of Herat, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The previous earthquake that shook Herat was also of magnitude 6.3 and was followed by several followingshocks.
