Strong earthquake in Indonesia. A 6.6-magnitude earthquake hit Indonesia’s eastern province of North Maluku.

The earthquake struck at 9:48 a.m. at a depth of 109 kilometers in the sea 68 kilometers northwest of the western Halmahera regency, Xinhua News reported, citing the Meteorological Agency. Tremors of the earthquake were also felt in the neighboring province of North Sulawesi, according to the report.
