6 Emirati women in the “final” of the Design Award

The Abu Dhabi Group for Culture and Arts and the fashion brand Dolce & Gabbana announced the list of finalists for the Design Award, which is a new award that has opened its doors to students of higher education institutions in the country.

The award’s jury consists of international figures, such as Stefano Galli, from Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda, Asma Al Fahim, President of the Abu Dhabi Businesswomen Council, founder of Villa 88 magazine, and Roberto La Laguna, Director of the Marangoni Institute – UAE, along with well-known Emirati artists, such as Azza Al Qubaisi, jewelry and product designer and sculptor, artist Ahmed Al Areef Al Dhaheri, and Sultan Al Darmaki, fashion designer, in the presence of Hoda Ibrahim Al Khamis, founder of the Abu Dhabi Culture and Arts Group, and representatives of Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda.

Designers Azza Rashid Al Suwaidi, Maryam Omar bin Ghaleb Al Falasi, and Mona Saqr Al Matroushi qualified in the fashion category, while Sarah Al Mansouri, Mahra Darwish Al Balushi, and Alia Al Zaabi emerged in jewelry design. The winner of each category will have the opportunity to acquire the necessary skills to develop and produce his final design. Through internal training at the headquarters of the famous brand in Italy, before displaying the produced design to the public during the Abu Dhabi Festival 2025.
