The West Jakarta Metro Police Precision Patrol Team succeeded in arresting 9 teenagers on Jalan Tomang Raya, Grogol, Petamburan, West Jakarta. They allegedly wanted to fight.
The incident occurred on Saturday (10/3), around 05.00 WIB. The police immediately moved to the location following receiving the report.
“We received reports that a number of teenagers were suspected of wanting to carry out a brawl,” said West Jakarta Metro Police Head of Samapta AKBP M Hari Agung Julianto to reporters, Monday (11/3).
Hari said that his party also confiscated a corbek-type sharp weapon (sajam). The nine teenagers were then taken to the Grogol Petamburan Police for further examination.
“The team immediately responded and managed to secure 9 teenagers along with sharp corbek weapons,” he said.
Hari said that preventive security measures were taken to keep the situation conducive. This was also done to welcome the holy month of Ramadan 1445 Hijriah.
“This action is part of the West Jakarta Metro Police’s efforts to maintain public security and order, especially ahead of the holy month of Ramadan,” he said. (Z-3)
