Multiple sclerosis (MS) is Europe’s most common autoimmune disease of the central nervous system. Thanks to the advances in medicine, it is quite treatable – even if it can take very different courses depending on the patient. MS often breaks out at a young age. The first symptoms usually appear between the ages of 15 and 40 and are often not very clear: visual disturbances and numbness in the legs are part of it – both consequences of the inflamed nerves.
