Toyota Motor Corporation, the Japanese auto giant, announced Thursday that it will extend the production cutback during the month of January to 47,000 units, according to what was reported today, Friday, by the Japanese “JJ” Press Agency.
The company attributed the reason for taking this step to difficulties in obtaining auto components due to the outbreak of coronavirus cases among workers in the supply sector.
Toyota had announced late last month that it would cut production this month by 20,000 units, partly due to a shortage in semiconductors.
It is noteworthy that the shortage of semiconductors and the supply chain crisis due to the Corona virus have greatly affected the global automotive industry sector.
