The government continues to increase pressure to boost vaccination. In a note from the Directorate General of Health published on Saturday January 29, the Ministry of Health indicates that “the booster dose is integrated into the vaccination obligation for people working in the health and medico-social sectors”.
“The realization of the booster dose is integrated into the vaccination obligation applicable to personnel working in the health and medico-social sectors on January 30, 2022, the date on which they must therefore present a valid vaccination schedule”, can we read in the note of the DGS.
Nursing staff with a recovery certificate are not currently affected and do not risk suspension. “The terms of application of the reminder in the vaccination obligation are the same as those which apply in the general population. An initial vaccination certificate is valid for 7 months until February 14, 2022, and following this date, it will be valid 4 months”, specify the text.
3/4 of caregivers have already received their booster dose
More than three-quarters of eligible caregivers have already received the booster dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
In hospitals and clinics, 68.2% have already received their booster dose, i.e. 76.9% of eligible employees – not taking into account those “recently infected” – according to the latest epidemiological point from Public Health France, stopped on Tuesday.
The staff of retirement homes (Ehpad) and long-term care services (USLD) are doing a little better, with 69.4% of vaccine reminders, or 77.8% of eligible caregivers.
Liberal professionals are the most advanced: 81.4% received their reminder, or 86.3% of eligible staff.
Those who have not yet completed their vaccination schedule will not automatically be suspended on Sunday. The rule is in fact modeled on the vaccination pass, “namely the application of the 7-month period” maximum since the last injection (first or second dose depending on the case), recalled the Ministry of Health in a note released in early January.
This period will be reduced to 4 months from February 15, except for people with a certificate of recovery from Covid-19, or a contraindication to vaccination.
