Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Acting Minister of Health, has set the isolation period for infection with the Corona virus.
This came during the Cabinet’s review, during its meeting today, headed by Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, a report from Abdel Ghaffar, on the epidemiological situation of the Corona virus at the local and global levels.
With regard to the positive case in the laboratory without any symptoms, the minister explained that its isolation ends following 5 days from the date of the positive test as long as no symptoms appear during the five-day period, provided that he returns to work following the expiry of the isolation period and this does not require conducting laboratory tests (Rapid). Antigen Test, PCR ID NOW).
Regarding the positive case in the laboratory, which is classified as a simple case, the minister indicated that it is treated at home, and the isolation continues for ten days, provided that the last 3 days are without a rise in temperature, coughing and shortness of breath.
As for the positive case in the laboratory and classified as moderate or severe symptoms, the isolation continues for ten days, provided that the last 3 days are without a rise in temperature, coughing and shortness of breath, and in the event that the 10-day period has elapsed, and the symptoms persist; Isolation continues until symptoms disappear and an additional 3 days have passed without symptoms.
