British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that Russian President Vladimir Putin may not be thinking logically, so the threat of sanctions may not be enough to prevent a Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Johnson told the BBC that sanctions “may not be enough to deter an irrational party and we have to accept at the moment that Vladimir Putin may be thinking irrationally about this and not seeing the catastrophe that will happen in the future.”
Johnson also indicated that he is unable to elicit what Putin, who has dominated Russia’s political scene since 1999, is thinking.
