The power went out in around 3,300 households in Berlin-Lichtenberg late Tuesday afternoon.
Some areas near Frankfurter Allee are affected, as the spokesman for the Berlin electricity network, Olaf Weidner, said.
According to the Stromnetz Berlin website The streets affected are: Gotlindestrasse, Kubornstrasse, Plonzstrasse, Roedeliusplatz, Rutnikstrasse and the surrounding area.
Two faults occurred one after the other within the same cable ring. Experts are on their way to fix the problem.
Initially, it was said that the disruption should be fixed by around 8 p.m. But later, Stromnetz Berlin pushed the time back significantly. Now the fault should not be fixed until Wednesday morning at 1.30 a.m.:
