USA: Suspect in murder of three Mexican cousins ​​arrested

A suspect has been arrested in the slaying of three cousins ​​from Mexico whose bodies were found in a vacant lot in Phoenix last month, police said.

Sgt. Philip Krynsky, a spokesman for the Phoenix Police Department, identified the suspect as 21-year-old Juan Vargas, but said the investigation was ongoing and no additional information regarding the slayings was immediately available.

The cousins ​​were from the Mexican state of Oaxaca and relatives said they drove to Wisconsin to live with relatives, Phoenix television ABC15 reported.

Vargas was booked on suspicion of first-degree murder in committing a felony, in addition to kidnapping, armed robbery with a deadly weapon and abandoning or concealing a body, according to jail records.

It is unknown if Vargas has a lawyer to speak regarding his judicial status.

Police identified the victims as Herminio Pérez Ramírez, 28; Isauro Martínez Domínguez, 21; and Abimael Jiménez Morenos, 16.

Their bodies had obvious signs of trauma, police said.
