The notes

  • We tours
For the first time in World Cup history there will be 21 Grand Prix. With two premieres and several returns, the bikes will travel both hemispheres to obtain the desired champion trophy. The circuits of KymiRing (Finland) and Mandalika (Indonesia) will be premiered on the calendar, and the teams will return to Argentina, Japan, Thailand, Australia and Malaysia, events that were not disputed in 2021 due to the pandemic.
  • Media return of Jorge Lorenzo
All World Cup races can be watched by DAZN. The platform, before the first Grand Prix of the season in Qatar, announced the incorporation of Jorge Lorenzo as a commentator. The five-time world champion (250cc in 2006 and 2007 and MotoGP in 2010, 2012 and 2015) retired in 2019 and will make his debut in this role this year.
  • World full of Ducati
The season will feature a record Ducati figure. In addition to the official team (Ducati Lenovo), three more structures will have the fastest bike of last season. Not all, however, with the new version. The two pilots of Pramac and Luca Marini will have the 2022 model, while Bezzechi and the two of Gresini will keep the 2021 model.
  • Brothers on wheels
The World Motorcycle Championship, again, is familiar ground for three pairs of siblings. The Marquez, both of whom are part of the Honda structure; the Espargarós, rivals since 2014; and the Binders, who meet for the first time in the queen category, remain on a grid where last year there were also the Rossi, a couple broken by the withdrawal of Il Dottore.
