Despite the lifting of curfew This Tuesday, April 5, dozens of people have gathered on Abancay Avenue, in the Cercado de Lima, to demand the departure of President Pedro Castillo. With banners, pots and poles of the Peruvian team, the citizens who are once morest the recent management presented themselves.
The protesters, who have been meeting for a couple of hours, aim to reach the Congress of the Republic, since the president is there meeting with the Board of Spokespersons. However, this is being prevented by agents of the National Police of Peru (PNP).

What did President Castillo say regarding lifting the curfew?
“From this moment on, we are going to rescind this immobility order that corresponds to calling the Peruvian people to calm down (…) “The State is not going to endorse some attitudes that go beyond the constitutional, such as the blocking of highways, stoning homes, burning tires…” said Pedro Castillo during his meeting in Congress.
It is important to specify that this measure will be effective when the president publishes the corresponding Supreme Decree, therefore, he left the meeting to go to the presidential office and put together the aforementioned document.
It should be noted that yesterday at midnight, President Pedro Castillo had ordered a mandatory social immobilization in Lima and Callao, following carriers complied with a general strike that caused disturbances in different parts of the country.
