Kollam: A youth was killed in a clash during the Kokkad temple festival. The deceased has been identified as Manoj, 39, of Manu. Manoj is the Kerala Congress (B) Chakkuvarakkal constituency president. Manoj was rushed to the hospital but might not save his life. The fingers of the hand are amputated. The neck is also cut.
Kerala Congress (B) leader Ganesh Kumar MLA alleged that the incident was a political assassination. Ganesh also alleged that Congress workers were behind the killing.
