Other important figures for the health of the economy, such as consumption or private investment, remained strong. Consumer spending is crucial to the economy as it helps move two-thirds of it. And that figure was higher in the first quarter than in the previous period: spending grew 2.7% between January and March compared to 2.5% from October to December last year.
