The Turkish lira fell one percent against the US dollar during trading on Monday, to its lowest level since last December, when a currency crisis caused it to plunge to record lows after a series of unconventional interest rate cuts.
The lira touched 15.10, surpassing the lows reached in March when it was affected by concerns about the war in Ukraine.
The lira is now 12% lower than its level at the end of 2021. It fell 44 percent last year.
