Casually, while we were more used to seeing her on the boards and on the bill at major comedy festivals, Blanche Gardin is more and more present in the cinema. For the second year in a row, the comedian and actress is even showing two films presented at Cannes. Last July, we saw her as a cynical and disillusioned assistant to an egocentric journalist played by Léa Seydoux in Franceby Bruno Dumont, and in a very small role of unfiltered gynecologist in blood oranges, quirky and die-hard comedy by Jean-Christophe Meurisse. In recent days, we have seen her climb the steps of the Palais des Festivals in the middle of the imposing cast of Smoking makes you coughby the facetious Quentin Dupieux, as well as in the title role of Everybody loves Joanthe first feature film by Céline Devaux presented at Critics’ Week.
