In the early 2000s, the Gorky Automobile Plant presented the Ataman concept SUV. Somewhat later, a modified version of this car was presented, which was supposed to become a direct competitor to UAZ. However, this model might not be put into production.
Independent designers of the portal naavtotrasse.ru presented a photo of the new GAZ-3106 Ataman-2 crossover 2022-2023 model year. The car, according to the creators of the renders, might be created on the platform of the Indian cross Mahindra XUV700.
Judging by the images, “GAZ-3106 Ataman-2” would have kept the appearance of the donor practically unchanged. The differences would be only in the brand logos. In the cabin of the model, an ultra-modern multimedia complex with a large touch screen would be installed, and in the arsenal of the cross there would be a number of modern active safety systems.
From a technical point of view, a novelty from GAZ worth regarding 1.5 million rubles would also repeat the Indian SUV. Under the hood, “Ataman-2” might install a 2.0-liter turbo engine with 197 hp. or a 2.2-liter 153-horsepower diesel engine paired with a manual transmission.
Note that the renderings of the GAZ-3106 Ataman-2 were created by independent designers and have nothing to do with the real plans of the GAZ company.
