The financial value of the agreement valid until the end of the 2023-2024 campaign has not been specified by the organization.

However, according to TVA Sports hockey expert Renaud Lavoie, the contract would bring its holder $750,000 next season and $775,000 a year later.

Last summer, the 32-year-old signed a one-year, $750,000 pact and might have enjoyed full autonomy in July.

Wideman had 27 points, including four goals, in 64 games with the Habs while posting a -25 differential.

Fourth-round pick, the 100e overall, for the Ottawa Senators in 2009, he had 20 goals and 52 assists, for 72 points in 245 career National League games.
