According to Autocar India, the new crossover will be available with Maruti Suzuki’s mild-hybrid technology and a full hybrid setup from Toyota. The Urban Cruiser Hyryder is tipped to have a 1.5-liter K15C engine that will be part of both hybrid systems.
Following the Toyota crossover, its “twin brother” from Maruti Suzuki will also appear, and sales of the latter will be launched through Nexa brand outlets. Both models will be produced at Toyota’s Indian plant in Karnataka, with serial assembly starting in August.
