Studies confirm that the adequate sleep time to maintain our mental health and performance is seven continuous hours without waking in the night.
According to studies, insufficient sleep duration has been associated with poorer cognitive performance, such as the speed of processing a task, visual attention, memory, or problem-solving abilities. The researchers suggest that one possible cause of cognitive disturbances may be the disruption of deep sleep, during which memory is strengthened.
The researchers say that more sleep means poor quality of sleep, and studies have shown that those over 50 years of age who slept less than six hours a night, regardless of their potential health or mental problems, are a risk factor for dementia.
