The Minister of Economy and Finance of Togo, Sani Yaya, declared on July 1, 2022 that the economic growth rate is revised to 5.9% for the year 2022, against an initial forecast of 6.1%, after a rate of 5.5% recorded in 2021. This downward revision of growth forecasts is attributed to “geopolitical tensions caused by the Russian-Ukrainian conflict” since the end of last February.
