Monty Norman, original composer of James Bond music, died at 94

Born in east London to a Jewish family that left the British capital at the start of World War II, Monty Norman received his first guitar aged 16 from his mother. At that time, he discovered the Beatles and Eric Clapton. After hesitating for a long time with comedy, he began to compose and write songs for UK rock pioneers Cliff Richard and Tommy Steel, as well as for musicals.
