A year after the NSO scandal, spying on phones is ‘still too easy’

It was a year ago. On July 19, 2021, the world discovered the extent of the spying on phones carried out by the Israeli company NSO. With the help of computer researchers from the Canadian company Citizen Lab and journalists, experts from Amnesty International had revealed the massive surveillance exercised by governments around the world once morest political dissidents, human rights defenders, politicians or more businessmen. A year later, NSO is still active, its Pegasus spyware is still doing damage and others may even supplant it.
