Dr. Mamoun Al-Najjar, CEO of Dar Al Fouad Hospital, revealed new details after the crisis of sports journalist Ahmed Hossam Mido in the hospital and the medical sector, due to his suffering in providing a bed to treat his father-in-law.
Al-Najjar said, in a telephone interview to the “Al-Hekaya” program, broadcast on MBC Egypt, on Monday evening, that “Hama” Captain “Mido” arrived at the hospital at 3:50, then entered the emergency department directly, Because the patient had a pressure of 190/110, breathing under 90 and high, and a rapid heartbeat. The emergency doctor conducted medical analyzes that revealed the presence of a “leaching” in the lung, and the patient was given “diuretics” and pressure reduction.
He added that the patient had a chest CT scan, which revealed that he was suspected of being infected with the Corona virus, so he was detained in the intensive care room, all isolation precautions were provided, and he was placed on an oxygen machine, until the pressure decreased and breathing became better, and this is proven in the hospital reports.
He continued: “The problem was the entry of the isolated patient, the isolation unit was contacted, but there was no place and all places were infected and sick with the Corona virus, so we contacted a nearby hospital to provide a bed for the patient.”
And he added, “It was discussed with the patient’s family that they would take the case to another hospital because there are no isolation beds available in Darat Al-Fouad, and the patient’s family had already booked a bed for the patient in one of the other hospitals to isolate him, and we made sure of that from the ambulance driver.”
