Kubo signed a five-year contract with the Basque team, in exchange for Real Madrid receiving about six and a half million US dollars, while also retaining fifty percent of the player’s rights.
The young Japanese player arrived at the Real Sociedad camp to complete the medical examination and routine procedures, before signing official contracts and presenting him to the media and the team’s fans. Kubo had spent multiple loan periods since joining Real Madrid in 2019, where he played for Mallorca, Villarreal and Getafe.
