A Venezuelan woman was detained by the police in Peru following her daughter, a 15-year-old teenager, denounced her because allegedly forced her to have sexual relations in the La Cruz district, in the town of Tumbes.
National Police of Peru indicated that a minor assured that her mother, Daimara Maideliz Gutiérrez Díaz, 35 years old, forced her to offer sexual services to different peoplereviewed the Peruvian media mail.
After that statement, officers went to the La Cantera sector, where they resided.
In the house, they located the woman and took her to the Corrales police station and later to the headquarters of the Criminal Investigation Division, in the Jorge Taipe Tarazona police complex.
Gutiérrez Díaz is under investigation for the alleged commission of the crime of human trafficking. Likewise, the victim is in the custody of the Special Protection Unit. The case, according to the media, is reported to the Public Ministry to continue with the legal procedure.
The newspaper mail indicated that a recent report revealed that situations of human trafficking occur in the Tumbes region with sexual, labor and forced begging purposes. Most of the victims, he pointed out, are adolescents and young people, between 16 and 25 years of age.
It is unknown if the teenager’s mother is linked to a human trafficking network or if she has committed this crime with other victims.
