Tropane alkaloids are natural components of certain plants that occasionally grow on fields as so-called weeds. During the grain harvest, components of these plants can be included and thus end up in food. They can therefore lead to temporary health problems such as nausea, drowsiness and headaches.
In addition to Alnatura, FZ Organic Food BV is also currently having problems with tropane alkaloids in its chips, such as productwarning.eu reported. The following products are therefore being recalled:
- Trafo tortilla chips chili 75g and 200g
- Trafo Tortilla Chips nachos 75g
- Trafo tortilla chips naturel 75g and 200g
All BBDs from August 15, 2022 up to and including January 9, 2023 are affected. The goods can be returned at the point of sale.
