The Munich golf pro Stephan Jäger achieved the best result of his career on the US tour at the PGA tournament in Detroit.
The 33-year-old finished fifth with 268 strokes and 20 under par when American Tony Finau (262 strokes) won. It was his second finish in the top ten after finishing sixth in May at the tournament in Potomac, Maryland.
After a 67 at the start, Jäger, ranked 205th in the world, followed with a 68 and a 65. On the final lap, he missed second place by just one shot with another 68. Jäger received $344,400 out of the total prize money of $8.5 million.
