Salzgeber saved the situation
Dialect band Hecht in the playback trap
Irritated faces at yesterday’s “Donnschtig-Jass”: After moderator Rainer Maria Salzgeber had announced the performance of the dialect band Hecht, the song including singing was heard. However, the group seemed far from ready.
Those were long seconds for the Lucerne dialect band Hecht! At yesterday’s “Donnschtig-Jass” performance, the troupe stood on stage as ordered and not picked up due to sound problems. After the announcement by moderator Rainer Maria Salzgeber (52), the playback of her song “Rose” ran, but frontman Stephan Buck (42) and his bandmates did not appear on stage in Bassersdorf ZH as if they were singing and making music .
“Due to an audio error, there was a breakdown yesterday, which we very much regret,” explains SRF spokeswoman Eva Wismer when asked by Blick. There have been no reactions from the audience so far.
Rainer Maria Salzgeber stepped in
The rescuer in need was Rainer Maria Salzgeber, who quickly noticed the breakdown and rushed onto the stage to join the band. “Breakdowns are part of live television. Mistakes happen. I reacted instinctively and went on stage and started talking to Stefan von Hecht until the situation was resolved. That’s part of my job,” he explains. After the aforementioned conversation, the band was able to perform as if nothing had happened.
There was no bad mood behind the scenes after the incident, he continues. “We’re a team, especially on a show like ‘Donnschtig-Jass’. Allegations against someone afterwards are completely out of place, »said Salzgeber. However, the source of the error must be evaluated. “Of course we will work it up anyway. My job is to react in the moment and help solve the story.”
Hecht do not want to comment
The members of Hecht did not want to comment on the performance breakdown. You are now confronted with the situation that the TV audience has seen clearly that you are using playback in your performance. However, this is nothing extraordinary, says Wismer. “In consultation between the artists and SRF, it is determined in each case whether it will be sung live or not,” explains the SRF spokeswoman. “Most of the time you agree on a playback, which is also common with TV shows.”
