With “The King and I” in Mörbisch and “Sissy” in Neuhaus am Klausenbach, the last performances of the cultural summer took place on Monday. “Nabucco” was played for the last time at the opera in the quarry in St. Margarethen on Sunday. The balance is positive.
The musical “The King and I” attracted a total of 78,811 visitors to the Mörbisch Lake Festival. The love story between the King of Siam and British governess Anna was performed 17 times, with an occupancy rate of 76 per cent.
“Sissy” at Tabor Castle
The guests in Neuhaus am Klausenbach also saw a romance – that between Emperor Franz Joseph and Elisabeth. 5,270 people came to the performances of the operetta “Sissy” – this is the highest sales result in the 20-year history of the festival at Tabor Castle.

Most visitors at “Nabucco”
Most visitors came to the opera in the quarry in St. Margarethen this year. With “Nabucco” a classic by Giuseppe Verdi was played. The biblical story of power, captivity and reconciliation captivated 87,000 viewers. The 20 performances were 92 percent booked.
