‘Why pay toll when people die? Collectors should explain in case of accident’- Potholes in Road| Kerala High court | Manorama News

Kochi: The High Court has asked the District Collectors to give an explanation if accidents occur due to potholes on national highways. These are man-made disasters. The court asked who was responsible for this. Why pay a toll when people die? Who should stop toll collection? The court said that the vigilance director should appear online on 31st of this month. The petition was heard by a bench of Justice Devan Ramachandran.

The Collectors of Thrissur and Ernakulam had submitted a report as per the instructions of the court. The Thrissur Collector’s report says that there has been a fall on the Mannuthi-Karukutty national highway. The report also says that there was no one responsible when the road work was going on.
