Lucerne drummer and percussionist Fredy Studer died on Monday at the age of 74. He died quickly and unexpectedly after a serious illness, his agency announced on Monday evening.
Fredy Studer was internationally known and was, according to his agency, one of the most outstanding Swiss drummers in the field of jazz and improvisation over the past 40 years. He was particularly successful with the Electricjazz-Freemusic Band OM, founded in 1972. OM celebrates its 50th anniversary this fall with a new album.
