Al-Marsad newspaper: The health advisor and pharmacist, Dr. Sobhi Haddad, suggested activating a method to retrieve unused medicines to benefit from them.

He said during an interview with Al-Ikhbariya channel: “The Ministry of Health must activate a method to retrieve expired or unwanted medicines to benefit from them, as many developed countries do.”

He continued, “This is the case in the United States, Canada and others, and they have collected tons of drugs that can be reused, recycled and benefited from instead of the drug waste that occurs.”

He added, “Many patients and families have huge quantities of medicines, and you find someone who visits more than one hospital and collects medicines from all these places and leaves them at home.”

To conclude, it was suggested that a day per year or week be circulated throughout the year to retrieve the medications.
