The head of the health department of the Vasileostrovsky district, Nikita Tikhonov, was detained on September 6 as part of a criminal case on especially large-scale fraud and abuse of power. Investigators did not like the way contracts for cleaning clinics were concluded.
According to Fontanka, three more employees of the administration were detained along with Tikhonov. The head of the district’s press service was unable to confirm the procedural aspect of the case, but confirmed that she had not seen the head of the health department at work today.
Among the detainees, according to Fontanka, is businessman Mikhail Zadorozhny, general director of Mirny-55 LLC. This company is a contractor for the complex cleaning of several polyclinics of the district, as, in fact, IP Zadorozhny M.V. According to the investigation, unidentified persons from among the employees of the district administration provided contracts. Funds were transferred as payment without any grounds for this, the theft of budget funds amounted to at least 77 million rubles.
The initiation of a criminal case in the GSU SK was preceded by a prosecutor’s check, which indicated 2.5 times the amount, the check materials were also sent to the antimonopoly service. Operational support is provided by the FSB and the economic police, according to Fontanka, three dozen employees of various departments are involved in the whole case.
