The body of a Jonquiéroise missing for 18 years finally identified

by Alexandra Hartman Editor-in-Chief

The coroner’s office has just identified the body of a Jonquiéroise who went missing 18 years ago.

Lydie Larouche, a 30-year-old mother when she disappeared, had not been seen since October 27, 2004.

In July 2010, bones were discovered near Baie Sainte-Marguerite, near the Saguenay River.

It is only recently that the genetic correspondence of this discovery might be established with the missing.

The coroner’s office will soon file a report explaining the causes and circumstances of death, which remain unclear at this time.

Sunday, relatives of Lydie Larouche attended a farewell ceremony in Chicoutimi.
