Longueuil: a 26-year-old man fights for his life

A 26-year-old man lies between life and death following being mowed down by a vehicle while reversing on Monday in Longueuil.

The victim was struck around 4 a.m. during a reversing maneuver in the parking lot of a billiard room on boulevard Cousineau in the Saint-Hubert sector.

Authorities fear for his life following he was transported to a hospital, said a spokeswoman for the Longueuil agglomeration police department (SPAL).

The driver of the vehicle is in custody and faces charges of impaired driving causing bodily harm and dangerous driving.

The SPAL specifies that the investigation is still in progress on the exact circumstances surrounding this accident.
