A husband chopped off his wife’s hand in Pathanamthitta, the violence was during a divorce case

Pathanamthitta: A husband cut off his wife’s hand during a divorce case. The incident took place in Kalanjoor, Pathanamthitta. Vidya’s hand was chopped off by her husband Santhosh, a native of Ejamkulam, at Parayankode Chavadimala. He later went into hiding.

Vidya and Santhosh were separated due to a family dispute. Vidya was attacked by her husband at around nine o’clock on Saturday night. Santosh injured Vidya by trespassing in her house in Kalanjoor.

Vidya’s one hand was cut below the knee and the other palm. Vidya’s hair was also cut. Vijayan, Vidya’s father who came to stop him, was also attacked. Santhosh injured Vijayan with a stick. Santosh fled from the spot following the attack. After being informed by the relatives, the police reached the spot.

Vidya and Vijayan have been shifted to a hospital in Thiruvananthapuram. Police said Santosh had been planning to attack Vidya for several days.
