Salzburg: The police pulled desolate trucks out of traffic on the western autobahn

by Alexandra Hartman Editor-in-Chief

The police pulled a damaged truck out of traffic on the Westautobahn (A1) near Eugendorf (Flachgau) on Monday followingnoon. The door to the driver’s cab might no longer be closed following a previous traffic accident on the Brenner motorway. So the 58-year-old driver fastened the door to the handlebars in the driver’s cab with tension belts. The Slovenian also believed that he might continue despite further damage.

He simply replaced the left side window that broke in the accident with a foil. He also cut a hole in it, through which, according to his statements to the police, he held a piece of mirror “if necessary”. Because the entire left exterior mirror was also lost in the crash. The driver was forbidden by the police to continue driving, and the man’s registration certificate and number plates of the truck were taken away. In addition, the officials raised a provisional security deposit.
