Croatia reached the semi-finals by defeating Austria by three goals to one in a tough fight. Austria equalized in the 9th minute once morest Croatia, who took the lead through Luka Modric’s goal in the 6th minute. Later, in a close-fought match, Croatia scored two goals in three minutes to seal the match.
Wales lost by a lopsided goal once morest Poland. Poland’s winning goal was in the 57th minute. Gareth Bale’s one-man battle failed to win over Wales. With this, Wales were relegated to the B Division. France lost to Denmark by two one-sided goals.
