The Saudi national football team aspires to improve its performance when it meets its American counterpart, on Tuesday, in an international friendly match at the “Nueva Condomina” stadium in the Spanish city of Murcia, as part of their preparations for the World Cup finals in Qatar.

The “green”, who reached the World Cup finals for the sixth time, plays in Group C along with the teams of Argentina, Mexico and Poland, while the US team plays in a second group that includes England, Wales and Iran.

Saudi Arabia tied with Ecuador 0-0 on Friday, while the US team lost 0-2 to Japan on the same day.

The Saudi and American teams have met 6 times, including two matches in the Confederations Cup and 4 friendlies. Saudi Arabia won two matches and the US team won three and drew once.

Al-Akhdar did not present the hoped-for level in its last match, despite the equalizer, in which the brilliant goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Owais contributed greatly, but he hopes to appear in a different way and provide the performance required of him.

On the other hand, the US team aspires to overcome its loss once morest Japan, relying on a large group of players who are active in European leagues, such as Arsenal goalkeeper Matt Turner, AC Milan defender Serginio Dest, Borussia Dortmund midfielder Giovanni Reina and Juventus midfielder Weston McKinney.
